The medical clinic Riel in Hull, where a doctor charged with possession of child pornography practice, will close in mid-May. All doctors who work there still remain in the region.
According to information obtained by calling the clinic, this decision is related to the fact that the lease for the premises of 455 boulevard Riel expired in May.
Dr. Jean-Fran?ois Coupal, which weighs against a charge of possession of child pornography, go practice in a new office at 733, boulevard Saint-Joseph, it was said at the clinic.
Dr. Coupal was arrested at the Ottawa International Airport in November 2011, while returning from a trip to Thailand. He was able to resume his practice a few weeks later, following strict conditions imposed by the Ontario Court, including that of not being alone in the presence of patients under 18 years.
The file must return on April 26 at the courthouse in Ottawa.
The College of Physicians of Qu?bec (CMQ) had indicated last year that Dr. Coupal had agreed not to practice alone, not to work away from the clinic Riel and do not use the hardware the institution.
CMQ had not yet been informed yesterday that Dr. Coupal intends to establish his practice elsewhere. "We will look at it more closely, since the commitment he was for clinical Riel", said the spokesman CMQ Leslie Labranche.
